Vacation Grand Canyon

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
Hell of a lot easier than typing too!

How do humans really know that dogs don't see color they way they do?
I KNOW!
Less of a reaction when dogs see The Grand Canyon.

Amazing!

I loved it!

Could have stood there for hours...
Behind a rail of course.

The clouds made for interesting shadows.

And now, what everyone's been waiting for...

THE DOG'S VERSION!

Aaaaagggghhhhh Mama that's really deep!

Hold me!  Hold me!  HOLD ME!

Ahhhh that's better.

Don't ever do that to me again.

And wow do they grow cats big here!

Vacation Part Whatever

I am being fired from my position as head blog writer.
By a so called friend.
She preferred to read the dog's version.
You know, the blithering version about cookies, naps, chasing cats and sniffing butts things.
Now if I could just wake the dog up from nap #12 of the day to fill in...

Dog Version goes something like this:
WALK!
PEE!
POOP!
BREAKFAST!
PETS!
Ohhhh.
Ssssooooo.
Sleeeppy.
Nap.

CAR RIDE!
To some volcano thing.
Park building.
OH WATER FOUNTAIN!
Lava rocks.
Back in the car.
CAR RIDE!

Indian ruins.
Had.
To.
Stay.
In.
The.
Car.

Humans took pictures of each other.
Lucy and I sat in the car.
Worried about snakes biting humans.
Humans getting lost.
Humans never returning.
No more cookies.
No more pets.

Eh ruins.
Ruins schmuins.

And this happened twice...!
But at least at the second ruins we got to sit in front of the building while the humans took turns walking through these "ruins" that so interested them.
Eh, no cats to chase.
What's the point?

So then we were hot and got back in the car.
CAR RIDE!
Back to our camping spot.
TRAILER!
I LOVE MY TRAILER!
IT'S MY FAVORITE THING!

And then we got to play in the dirt.
PLAYING!
IN THE DIRT!
MY FAVORITE THING!
DIRT!
DIRT!
DIRT!
And then I was dirty.

And tired.
So had to take a nap.

And then we were all "happy campers"!

The End.

Vacation Part 3 ~ No Thumbs

Lexie does not have thumbs.
No dew claws either.
She can't type for s**t.

So I am once again taking over.

And on to Flagstaff!
And the mountains!
And "Different Worlds" ~ our cruising friends Al and Debbie from our first time cruising in Mexico back in the dark ages 1998-2000.

They are the king and queen of finding cool and free campsites!

The place was amazing!
Quiet.
Peaceful.
Beautiful!

Great hiking and walking.
And a pond for the dogs!

They loved it!

Lexie played around with another dog while Lucy lined up sticks.
Really big sticks.

The had to be perfectly lined up parallel to shore.
Goofy dog!

And what do wet dogs do?
Roll around in the dirt...

Then take nap #14 of the day.

Then play again.

And give the octopus a lobotomy.

Then roll around in the dirt again.

Vacation Part Two ~ Scamps!

Back in the white thing they ride around in!
YAY ~ MY FAVORITE THING!
Really, it is.
Remember my bed was in the back seat and I can nap.
For. Hours.
And. Hours.
Just where the hell were they taking me anyway?

A Scamp party!

Or Seligman, Arizona during their annual Fun Run.
Eh, whatever.
I was with them and they were feeding me, petting me and letting me nap when ever I wanted.
Life was good!

Three Scamps!
And a Casita!
SCAMPS!
LIKE MY TRAILER!
OH BOY!
MY FAVORITE THING!

I even got to poke my nose into one.
And sniff.
OH BOY!
I LOVE TO SNIFF!

And all these old cars and trailers!
And all the people pet me!
And told me I was a pretty girl!
MY FAVORITE THING!

And we had BBQ.
And I slept on their feet.
And they let me...
And they pet me.
And they gave me treats.
TREATS!
MY FAVORITE THING!

And then we went in the white thing they ride around in and saw "Route 66 Kitsch".

Whatever that is.
My humans liked the "kitsch".
In fact I had to stand behave oustside of kitsch stores so they could buy some kitsch.
I got a purple Route 66 kitschy bandana.
Or so they told me it was purple.
Can't tell...

And lots of things they ride around in!
Lots and lots of them!
I wanted to climb in ALL of them!
And go for a ride!
A RIDE!
OH BOY!

MY FAVORITE THING!

Only not in this car...
I think it was sick.

Vacation Part 1 ~ From Another Perspective

Road trip!
OH BOY!
My favorite thing!
OH BOY!
My bed was in the back seat of that white thing they ride around in.
My bed!
OH BOY!
My favorite thing!
And behind the white thing they ride around in was "THE TRAILER"!
MY FAVORITE THING!
Ok, I know I don't really look at that excited to be in "the trailer", but I love, love, LOVE "the trailer".
My humans can't be out of my sight.
Or more than 5' away from me.
I love it.

My humans seemed to be quite happy too, yakking in the front of that white thing we ride around in about 11 days, Arizona, camping, friends, Lucy, Maya and and blah, blah, blah until I took my 14th nap of the day.
Nap!
MY FAVORITE THING!

Then they got hamburgers.
OH BOY!
And gave me those long cream colored greasy salty things.
MY FAVORITE THING!

Oh boy, this was so much fun!

Then we parked in the desert and got to sit in front of "the trailer" and take another nap.
Well, I took a nap, they had wine and beer.
Two things that are not my favorite things.

And then, BEDTIME!
MY FAVORITE THING!
Especially in "the trailer", because the human's bed is really small and I don't really have a bed so I sleep on their feet and they wake up a lot and when they wake up a lot, I hear my name a lot.
And sometimes at night they pet me.
Pets!!
MY FAVORITE THING!
Or maybe it's more of a push...
Eh, whatever the humans touch me.
All good.

And the next day?
Breakfast!
A walk!
A long walk!
OH BOY!!

And the mama human took these pictures.

I like this one because I am in it.
Even if it was in a bathtub.
Bathtubs...
Eh, not my favorite thing at all.

But ok, because the daddy human was touching me.
Touching me!
OH BOY!
MY FAVORITE THING!

And this one with my mama human.

Even if I was on that leash thing and she wasn't touching me.

And this one for Uncle Stan.

Uncle Stan is a blacksmith.
Whatever that is...

And our campsite!
CAMPING!
MY FAVORITE THING!

OH BOY!
